Cardboard beds? You bet!!
Yona prioritise the following 3 sustainability areas:
Materials / Ingredients
Product & Production
Yona is on a sustainable mission, focusing on three areas:
Yona’s cardboard beds are predominantly made from recycled cardboard (diverted from landfill) as well as original paper fibres from sustainable forestry. By using recycled as well as new cardboard they’re able to make strong, robust beds that are designed to be used for many years and then recycled again.
Yona work hard to minimise any plastic or other non-environmentally friendly materials in their packaging.
The company have been 100% carbon neutral since they started, and all the energy used to make and ship the beds, and even power the computers at Yona HQ, are either from a renewable energy source or have been offset.
Ethical Supply Chain
Yona pay close attention to the way their beds are made, from the sourcing of the cardboard to the person delivering the beds. They make sure that all the people involved are treated well.
Respect for the environment, their customers and each other is at the core of what the company wants to be about, so they ensure that all suppliers and manufacturers meet a rigorous set of compliance requirements which includes standards related to hiring practices, wages, freedom of association and health & safety.
